Meet Alan
Alan started off his animal career as an Animal Control Officer for the Inland Valley Humane Society where he got hands on experience out in the field with reading Dogs, understanding Body language and Behavior. He also trained as an Undercover Animal Cruelty Investigator for Hollywood-based Animal Rights group Mercy For Animals, which further solidified his choice to live a Healthy Vegan Lifestyle for himself and later on, his Wife and Kids as well. He was Head Trainer for multiple Petco’s heading their Private, AKC Canine Good Citizen, Playgroup and Group Trainings using the Petco Positive Reinforcement model, where hundreds of Clients came through his courses at all stages of their dogs lives. It was there he realized he could be doing more for those dogs that weren’t “Nice” enough to be in Petco classes, so he started working with behavioral cases. After some time he aligned himself with Pasadena Humane Society as their Dog Behaviorist as well as Friends of Upland Animal Shelter and started working with the Shelter dogs. Working with Shelter dogs allowed him to fine tune his craft as every shelter animal presented a different issue and set of characteristics to handle. Alan soon started taking Dogs from Friends Of Upland Animal Shelter to take part in Cesar Millan’s Fundamentals courses and Soon after, he was invited to take part in Cesar Millan’s Dog Psychology Course. He has been able to observe other Dog Behaviorists such as Todd Langston and Linn Boyke during the assessment and dog selection process for the Fundamentals courses held at the Dog Psychology Center. He has also spent time furthering his knowledge with fellow Dog Behaviorists, Brian Agnew and Cheri Lucas as well as attending their Lucas Agnew Workshops.
